All Our Babies Start Their Journey Here

All babies start their journey at Over the Rainbow in this room. Routines are tailored to your individual baby while preparing them for progression into the toddler room. Staff have attended specialist training in working with babies, and our baby room lead practitioner is Elklan trained for children aged 0-3, supporting speech, language and communication needs.

Throughout the nursery we follow the EYFS curriculum. In the baby room there is a strong focus on the prime areas of learning, including sensory play, music and movement, plus toddler talk activities for older babies. We also consider the baby room environment carefully, ensuring there are quieter areas for babies to access.

Parents receive a home communication book and a one-to-one discussion every day to share your child's daily experiences and wellbeing. We also send home activity and toddler talk packs, along with extra-curricular mini movers (dance) sessions to promote physical development.
